One person found this helpful. No need to remove all if you are going to use a solid color stain. But it pertains to timeliness of applying stain after prep. Also sanding a deck is not a good idea, especially at grit. Switch brands as well. Do not use a solid. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
I waited about 30 minutes then started power washing.
The Best Deck Stains? Not sure if anyone makes a solid stain that is oil-based anymore. I was going to lightly sand it down, what do you recommend for the grit I believe they say grit on the deck boards and then go over it again in grit to give it that smooth to the touch feeling? Rated 2 out of 5 by wespaint from wespaint I spoke to a Home Depot associate and with the local Behr rep about my plans to strip a Behr waterbase seal from my deck and use a Behr oilbase coating. Do I need to reapply the stain stripper?
